Every county’s Probate & Family Court — address, phone, hours, and the towns each one serves. A probate case is filed in the county where the person lived at the time of death.
Which court do I use? In Massachusetts, a will or estate is filed in the Probate & Family Court for the county where the deceased person lived. Most counties have one courthouse. Middlesex County has two divisions — a North division in Lowell and a South division in Woburn — so check the town lists on those two cards below. If you’re in our service area: Worcester-area towns file in Worcester; Middlesex towns like Billerica, Chelmsford, Framingham, Hudson, Lowell, Marlborough, Natick, and Tewksbury file in Lowell (North), while Newton files in Woburn (South).
